El Alacrán is a mysterious lieutenant for the Los Chapos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel lead by the sons of Joaquin Guzman Loera. El Alacran is described by a narco ballad as leading operations for the Guzman faction in the Aguaruto syndicate just outside of the city of Culiacan. A musical group called Grupo Clasificado sings a song called “EL ALACRAN” which states the following,
“with fire, we are advancing, here we have support and backup, we do not play as tough, we have a flag that is posted, we are people of the eldest (IVAN GUZMAN)… I am El Alacran beware Culiacan, grounds, and zones..”
