The video increased suspicions about the alleged links between Marcos Eduardo Castro and members of organized crime.
The date the video was recorded is unknown, as well as the identity of the victims.
In early November 2023, a video began circulating on social networks in which two young men, handcuffed and half-naked, are surrounded by a group of hired killers while one of them mutilates them.
“Long live who? Long live who?” the alleged member of a criminal cell asks one of the victims while holding his ear with one hand and a knife with the other.
At the question, the boy spits blood and an unrecognizable object that, apparently, his captors forced into his mouth. When he finally has the chance to articulate words, he answers the assassin’s questioning.
-Long live, who?
-Markitos Toys
-Markitos what?
-Markitos Toys
-Let’s go then, crazy man”, says the criminal before cutting off the young man’s left ear. At the end of the action, he repeats the questioning alluding to the famous youtuber from Culiacán and cuts off the young man’s right ear.
Markitos Toys is the cousin of an alleged financial operator for El Nini.
While the boy fills with blood, the man holding the weapon says “What else?”, as if looking for a way to continue the torture. “I’m going to fucking destroy him also!”, another of the subjects located around is heard saying.
The recording cuts off after a minute and a half. It’s unknown what additional aggressions were committed against both young men.
Although in the video there is no indication of the criminal group behind these acts, some unofficial versions indicate that the Sinaloa Cartel were responsible, specifically the faction that was commanded by Néstor Isidro Pérez Salas, alias ‘El Nini’, with whom Markitos Toys acknowledged having a friendship.
Marcos Eduardo Castro Cárdenas, the youtuber’s real name, spoke out on social networks after federal forces captured ‘El Nini’. “I only had a friendship with my friend and a friendship is worth more than everything, we were friends, neither I was his employee nor he mine,” he said without mentioning the name of the head of Los Chapitos’ hitmen.
In addition to these statements and the participation of Markitos Toys in narco ballads alluding to Perez Salas, an alleged official document was recently released that identifies someone by the name of Marcos Eduardo, with the alias of ‘Markitos’, as the financial operator of ‘El Nini’.
The same structure included Kevin Daniel Castro Beltran, Markitos Toys’ cousin, arrested on November 23 for being another alleged collaborator in the management of the criminal cell’s resources.
