I reported on the preview clips from the 60 Minutes interview that President Donald Trump did with Norah O’Donnell that aired Sunday night. The first two clips were not promising as to whether CBS made a change in how they will be approaching things. One was “What are you doing as president to end the shutdown?” It isn’t up to Trump; it’s up to the Democrats who are behind the government closure. O’Donnell also asked what Trump would do if China attacked Taiwan. Now, that seemed a pretty ridiculous question, because he’s not going to tell her how he would respond, and give away our plans. He made it obvious that it was not something that China would like, which is the only way to answer that question.

But Trump also dealt O’Donnell a little schooling in a couple of exchanges where it didn’t look like CBS News had changed their approach.
O’Donnell asked him about political retribution. She inquired about the prosecutions regarding former FBI Director James Comey, former National Security Advisor John Bolton, and New York Attorney General Letitia James. She claimed they were “public figures” who had “denounced” him. But Trump reminded her of something.

“You know what? You know who got indicted? The man you’re looking at. I got indicted, and I was innocent,” Trump said.
She asked if he had instructed the Department of Justice to go after them.

“Not in any way, shape, or form,” Trump declared.
Where were the liberal media questions about Trump being targeted, with Democrats like Letitia James running on a platform of targeting Trump?
That clip got a lot of attention. But he really shredded O’Donnell in the following clip about crime in Washington, D.C. being reduced since he took action and sent in the National Guard. This is like a prosecutor taking apart a witness. Anyone who questions Trump’s ability should look at this one. This is Trump taking a reporter to the cleaners.

He spoke about the change that had been made in D.C. and how now you can “walk down the street, and have your daughter who is ten years old and meet you in the park, and she’s going to be okay.”
O’Donnell interjected, “In certain parts of D.C. I live in D.C.”
Trump smiled, then leaned in, “So you tell me. How big a difference is D.C. now compared to what it was a year ago? Right? You have to be honest with me.” He said he has people in the White House coming up to him, thanking him for being able to feel safe now to walk to work.
“You know that too. You live here, you know that too. You see a difference? You see a difference?” he pressed.

Then she responded, “I think I’ve been working too hard, I haven’t been out that much.”
Wait, didn’t she just suggest she would know if the little girl would be safe walking because she “lived in D.C.?”
Trump then laughed, knowing he’d got her, “That’s not a fair answer, you see a difference…You know what the difference is? Like day and night.” He joked she didn’t have to use that clip because he didn’t want to embarrass her.
And that’s the problem with media bias. But he got her, and she knew it.
