Federal authorities carried out the seizure of 16 kilos of fentanyl and 900 grams of methamphetamine, which were being transported in a trailer, hidden in a shipment of egg cartons in Sonora, the driver was arrested.

The Attorney General’s Office (FGR), informed that elements of the Federal Ministerial Police (PFM), of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC), derived from an anonymous tip, at the toll booth located at kilometer 15,300 of Federal Highway 1040 Hermosillo – Nogales, stopped a tractor-trailer coming from Los Mochis, Sinaloa, bound for Tijuana, Baja California.


During the search and inspection of the truck, 16 packages were found containing 16 kilos of fentanyl and another one with 900 grams of probable methamphetamine, for which the driver Omar “R” was arrested.

The FGR, through the Specialized Regional Control Prosecutor’s Office (FECOR), in its Sonora Delegation, initiated an investigation against a person, for his probable responsibility in the crime against health in the modality of transporting fentanyl and methamphetamine.
