Mexico’s Army and National Guard seized 24,000 liters of liquid methamphetamine and massive amounts of precursor chemicals at a Sinaloa Cartel warehouse in Los Mochis, Sinaloa last week.

According to the Sedena press release, Mexican authorities located the warehouse through military intelligence. Alongside the 24,000 liters of liquid methamphetamine, authorities seized 98,640 liters and 59,425 kilograms of precursor chemicals used for the production of synthetic drugs, two vehicles, weapons, and arrested one. Also at the scene were 270 gas tanks, used for “cooking” at narco laboratories.

The seizure is the largest of liquid meth during President Sheinbaum’s term, and the second largest in Mexico’s history. No cooking setups were found at the site of the seizure, suggesting this warehouse was a depot where materials were stored before being sent to labs across the region.

U.S. Ambassador Ronald Johnson posted a message on Twitter highlighting confirming that the U.S. played a part in the seizure.
