Authorities in the Mexican resort of Cancun said Monday they have found four dead bodies in the city’s hotel zone near the beach.

Around 10 in the morning on Monday, April 3, emergency services received a report of detonations of firearms.
After the shooting, the Cancun authorities reported that four people had been executed on the spot and “clarified” that the victims were not visitors, tourists, or foreigners.
They also indicated that the deceased were workers in the area and were related to “illegal activities and drug dealing.”
Photos published by Reuters showed local police, the Mexican National Guard, and a vehicle from the attorney general’s office at the Fiesta Americana hotel.
Prosecutors in the Caribbean coast state of Quintana Roo said two suspects had been detained in the killings. They said the deaths were under investigation but did not give a cause of death. Reuters and AFP reported the four victims were shot to death.
The detainees are Cristian’ N’ and José’ N, ‘who were apprehended thanks to images from the C5 video surveillance cameras of the Quintana Roo Public Security Secretariat.

The two subjects were arrested when police officers carrying out preventive work on Puerto Cancún Avenue noticed an orange and black vehicle was speeding, zigzagging between the vehicles in the place.
“Authorities are working to shed light on the events and provide the whereabouts of other possible participants in this crime,” prosecutors said in a statement.
The person responsible is Héctor Elías Flores Aceves, alias’ El 15′, for his alleged participation in the shooting this Monday, April 3, in the hotel zone of Cancun, which left a balance of four people dead.

Through social networks, the Quintana Roo authorities promised 1 million pesos to anyone who provides “effective and reliable” information that contributes to the arrest of the alleged murderer, who is also known as ‘Pantera’ or ‘El Rey.’
