A police pursuit took place near the international border of the United States, where elements of the State Citizen Security Force (FESC) intercepted and pursued a criminal group from the Rusos criminal structure.
During the intervention, it was revealed that one of the suspects is a relative of a cell leader known only as El Caimán, who has kept a low profile, but is known to be one of the most important leaders within the Sinaloa Cartel group, predominant in Mexicali, its valley and now also in San Luis Río Colorado.
On Wednesday afternoon – according to FESC elements in their information report – it all started when they pulled over a white 2012 Dodge Ram, without visible license plates, which – according to them – was using lights similar to police strobes.
Around the vehicle, a group of people were observed carrying ballistic vests and what appeared to be long weapons, which they were carrying in a black 2001 Chevy Tahoe.
Preventive units intervened, but the suspects tried to escape aboard one of the vehicles, drove down a dirt road and then onto a road adjacent to the airport highway.
It was at that moment that the intense pursuit began, risking the lives of all those involved in the operation. Preventive police officers requested support from other officers in the area until finally, upon reaching Agua Terminal street, in the Los Manantiales subdivision, one of the perpetrators got out of the vehicle and began to run away, but was apprehended moments after throwing a firearm away.
In the pursuit the assailants continued zigzagging and speeding through intersections until they reached Agua Limpia street, where they were intercepted by the police group.
According to the press release, Lorenzo “N”, 25, and Javier Alid “N”, 21, from Mexicali; Axel Guadalupe “N”, 35, from Guasave, Sinaloa; Noel “N”, 44, from Acapulco, Guerrero, were arrested. But according to FESC sources, they also apprehended Manuel Emilio López Sulmarán, 23, from Culiacán, who is alleged to be a close relative of Caimán, a member of the Los Rusos criminal group.
The following objects were seized:
A rifle with a magazine loaded with 23 rounds, 5.56×45 mm; a rifle with a magazine loaded with 11 rounds; an AK 47 rifle caliber 7.62×39 mm with 2 disc magazines, one of them with 50 rounds, 7.62×39 mm and the second with 80 rounds; it also had a third magazine integrated with 35 rounds, 7.62×39 mm, inside a black plastic case.
