“Sol Prendido” for Borderland Beat
Two police officers from the municipality of Zuazua were killed during a shooting attack while on a surveillance patrol near the Carrizalejo neighborhood.
While searching for suspects in a pickup truck, two Zuazua municipal police officers were killed with dozens of bullets.
The uniformed officers were driving in their patrol car on the Zuazua- Agua Fría highway near the Carrizalejo neighborhood.
It was close to midnight on Friday when the aggression occurred, the municipal police unit had multiple bullet impacts, mainly in the windshield, and the bodies of the uniformed officers were inside.
Investigating authorities have not established how the events occurred, where apparently the criminals got out of the vehicle and shot at them until they were dead. It is estimated that they were shot about 40 times.
Although it has not been officially announced, it was said that one of them is a coordinator and supervisor, while the other deceased agent had only been with the corporation for a couple of months.
