Federal forces led by the Navy arrested on Friday night, May 12, Hector Elias Flores Aceves aka El 15, Secre, Pantera, and or Rey. Alleged leader of the Los Chapitos faction in the tourist resort of Cancun, federal sources reported on Saturday.
Aceves, considered the main culprit of violence in Quintana Roo, is the leader of a gang dedicated to homicides, kidnappings, and extortions related nationally to the sons of Joaquín El Chapo Guzmán. He was located in a clinic in the downtown area of Guamúchil, Sinaloa. Following an operation he was arrested in coordination by elements of the Secretary of the Navy, the Attorney General’s Office and the National Anti-Kidnapping Unit (Conase).
After arresting him in Sinaloa, Navy elements airlifted the lieutenant for Los Chapitos to be held in the Social Readaptation Center of Cancun. According to ministerial investigations, Hector Elias Flores Aceves is the principal perpetrator responsible for the attacks on several establishments near Cancun’s hotel zone that took place last May 6th that left four people dead.
