“Sol Prendido” for Borderland Beat

Following an aggression that resulted from patrols in Guadalupe, security forces arrested five people who claimed to be members of a criminal group and who were in possession of weapons.

The detainees were identified as probable perpetrators of violence and could be related to criminal acts registered in the metropolitan area.

Members of the Immediate Reaction Force Zacatecas (FRIZ) of the State Police, in coordination with personnel from the Mexican Army and the National Guard, were conducting surveillance patrols when they detected several people traveling in a Chevrolet vehicle, who upon noticing their presence began to attack them with gunfire.

The Security Forces repelled the attack and managed to arrest a woman and two minors, along with two adults identified as Juan Manuel N., 24 years old, and Sarahí N., 25 years old, all from Zacatecas.

Three handguns, two magazines, 43 rounds of various calibers, a fragmentation grenade, 18 bags containing marijuana and 15 packages of cocaine were seized. The Chevrolet Trailblazer vehicle was also seized.

The detainees, the vehicle, the weapons and the drugs were handed over to the competent authorities for further investigation.
