  2. He said democracy is being targeted by extremists, and there are forces that are “trying to tear us apart”
  3. The UK is seeing a “shocking increase in criminality related to extremism”, he said, and we must “draw a line”
  4. He called on the police to “not merely manage protests but police them”, and said the government would back their action
  5. The Commons saw chaotic scenes last week when speaker Lindsay Hoyle did away with convention during a debate about Gaza
  6. Last night, the Tory party failed to win a by-election in Rochdale – the seat went to George Galloway who said his victory was “for Gaza”
