The Archbishop of Guadalajara confirmed the death of Father Isaías Ramírez González.
“With sadness, we have received the news that his lifeless body was found. We are waiting for the corresponding authorities to inform us of the causes of his death”, published the Archbishop of Guadalajara, José Francisco Robles Ortega.
Father Isaías had been missing since last Thursday and his truck was found near the place where his body was rescued this Sunday.
He belonged to the Archdiocese of Tuxtla Gutierrez, in the state of Chispas, but was born in Guadalajara and had arrived in this city a few months ago for health reasons.
“We pray to God for the eternal rest of this priest and we offer our condolences to his family, along with our prayers, so that the Lord may give them comfort and strength in these moments of pain”, added the Cardinal of Guadalajara in his publication.
This Sunday after the noon mass, Robles Ortega explained that the priest took his private car to go to his sister’s house in Zapotlanejo to have lunch, as he used to do, but he did not arrive.
He recalled that due to a permission from his bishop in Chiapas he was in Guadalajara to be treated for a heart problem, as he had already suffered three heart attacks.
He explained that days before the date of his disappearance he went to the doctor, where he was checked and given medicines, some of them injected “and his behavior was normal, he did not show any sign of missing or anything like that”.
He added that his truck “there is no indication that there has been any violence, that there has been an accident”, and that there were no previous threats against him, according to the Cardinal, after maintaining contact with the father’s sister.
