Live: NRL and NRLW scores and results
Ieremia-Toeava scores his first NRL try!
And that’s probably game.
The Warriors have their second try of the half, and it’s Eddie Ieremia-Toeava who bundles the ball over.
The returning Te Maire Martin has the ball out of dummy half, and works it quickly to Ieremia-Toeava to his left.
The number 15 muscles forward and puts the ball down.
He is stoked, throwing the ball high in celebration.
Tanah Boyd slots the conversion from right in front.
Pompey scores the first try of the second half!
The Warriors breathe a sigh of relief.
They have finally translated their second half territorial superiority into a try.
Chanel Harris-Tavita sends up a long kick on the last, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck rises high just out from the line and bats it back.
Harris-Tavita – who had made good ground after punting the ball forward – does well to work it out to Adam Pompey, who rolls over in the left corner.
The conversion is good and the Warriors lead by 20.

52′ Campbell almost fluffs a 20m restart
Pretty bizarre stuff in Robina.
Jayden Campbell rises and takes a catch on his own tryline, the Titans are given a 20m restart, Campbell strides forward but begins play in front of the 20m line!
However, the Warriors challenge the decision, thinking Campbell took the catch with a foot over the line.
The replays show Campbell is okay. Just.
The challenge is unsuccessful, but the Kiwi club keep their captain’s challenge.
But because of that break in play, Campbell’s 20m brain fade is forgiven and the Titans restart.
They’re still in this.

50′ Warriors pushing to no avail
The Warriors are all over Gold Coast to begin this second half.
They have a couple consecutive sets and look to be making inroads on the left hand side.
Chanel Harris-Tavita works a kick into the Titans’ goal area, but it’s batted behind.
Gold Coast go long on the resulting line-dropout and the Warriors work it forward again.
Things are then looking promising on the right for the Warriors.
Dallin Watene-Zelezniak is steaming forward in the corner, dives to put the ball down, but a good defensive action sees the ball batted out of his hands.
The bunker has a look at it and decides to put Phillip Sami for some high contact during that play.
The Warriors restart and will be wanting to turn this territorial advantage into points ASAP.
14 points the margin with 50 minutes played.

43′ Warriors kick penalty goal
Tanah Boyd is taken out while kicking on the last and the Warriors are given a penalty close in and just to the right of the goalposts.
They opt for the kick and Boyd makes no mistake.
Titans 6
Warriors 20

We’re back underway on the Gold Coast
The Warriors kick-off and the Titans have first use.
It’s a completed – albeit an unremarkable – set to get things back underway.
I’m Henry and here to guide you through the second half of this one.
HALF-TIME: Warriors 18-6 Titans
It was looking like a bloodbath early, but the Titans have cauterised things somewhat and only trail by 12 going into the break.
After a frantic start, both teams have calmed down and the Warriors in particular are playing percentage footy, which is all they need to do to win this one.
The attack in the redzone is looking slick, but they’ve lacked go-forward since James Fisher-Harris went off, so they’ll be eager to address that ASAP.

40′ Bunker says no try just before the break
AJ Brimson gets through to a grubber and almost pulls off a miracle as he and Wayde Egan compete but he somehow doesn’t knock-on, knees the ball forward and Sam Verrills dives in.
But the bunker says he did knock-on in that scramble with Egan, upholding the on-field no-try call. Hard to argue really. Not enough evidence to overturn.

36′ Titans gifted field position with soft call
Kurt Capewell applies the kick pressure, arrives in time and does everything he can to bring Jayden Campbell to ground gently, but he’s still penalised downfield.
I hate that call.
But the Titans knock-on close to the line, so the football gods work it out.

Kurt Capewell loves a hard kick chase and AJ Brimson exploited that here.

30′ Titans miss out by centimetres
Jayden Campbell spies space in behind and grubbers out wide, but it takes a couple of nasty bounces and goes too far left, with Phil Sami only able to ground the ball touch in-goal.

25′ Early kick keeps the pressure on the Titans
Jaylan De Groot is forced to go back and is tackled a metre from his tryline.
It’s not until the fourth play that every Titan is back onside.
And Tino Fa’asuamaleaui throws a desperate offload that ends up in Warriors hands.
Tanah Boyd sums up the play and forces a line dropout with a grubber to calm things down. It has been a frantic start from both sides for sure.

DCE: ‘That’s why we play’

Manly Warringah’s first 350-game player, Daly Cherry-Evans, is speaking to the media.
Although there is still uncertainty surrounding his immediate future, he is taking a moment to bask in the glow of a pretty perfect Brookvale afternoon.
“Thats why we play – for days like today,” Cherry-Evans says.
“For me, on a personal level, with my girls being a big part of the jersey presentation, that’s why you play.
“The hill was pumping, we were scoring points, we had some nice big tackles from the boys.
“It’s why you play – the competitive side of you just wants to win every game and then there’s the family side of me that’s just so appreciative of what I’ve got at the moment with my girls.
“Today ticked a heap of boxes on a personal level and a club level so can’t complain.”

And he is underlining how important both his loved ones and the club have been in pushing him towards today’s milestone.
“I would have given up long ago if I would have lost support from family and friends,” Cherry-Evans says.
“If at any stage, if it felt like I lost the locker room and the support of the team and the club, I would’ve stopped a long time ago.
“When you’re around good people and you’re around people who are striving to be better every day and you’ve got your friends and family along for the journey, it’s really hard to give up.
“Today was a special day.”
So, no big announcement, nothing too revelatory about his future plans, but a really lovely moment of reflection for one of Manly’s greatest ever.
Roger Roger! A double for RTS
That’s a fourth try coming straight after errors from the opposition.
This time it’s Phillip Sami dropping a bomb and the Warriors just line up out to the left.
Kurt Capewell runs a great line to freeze the defence and Adam Pompey completes the move with quick hands out to Roger Tuivasa-Sheck’s second.
It’s 18-6 to the Warriors and the game is only 21 minutes old.
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck dives in out wide
Jojo Fifita soars to mark a crossfield kick brilliantly but fumbles as he hits the ground hard and the Warriors attack from 10 metres out.
They go short side and some incredibly slick hands from Tanah Boyd and Chanel Harris-Tavita send RTS over.

The first try today where the attack actually outplayed the defence, rather than simply being shown the way to the line.
Boyd converts and the Warriors lead 12-6 after 18 minutes.
Another incredibly easy try, this time for the Warriors
Just like the Titans’ try, this one comes off an error, comes off a straightforward dummy-half pass and big Marata Niukore just reaches out to score after a regulation hit-up between two players from close to the line.
Between the 88-point bonanza at Brookvale to start the day, and now two tries with an absolute dearth of defence in the first seven minutes on the Gold Coast (the Eels and Roosters also have points in them) we could be in for a record-breaking day of scoring in the NRL.
And Tino goes over for the first points of the game!
Gee, that is way too easy off a pretty standard play-the-ball. Sam Verrills hits Tino one out and he somehow is allowed to jog in between Tanner Stowers-Smith and Marata Niukore to dive in.

Niukore didn’t even touch him, and Stowers-Smith did only slightly more.
Titans lead 6-0 after five minutes.

1′ Tino Fa’asuamaleaui smashes James Fisher-Harris off the kick-off
The Titans boot it long and James Fisher-Harris takes the first run, but he is absolutely met and sent reeling by Tino Fa’asuamaleaui.
He was so rocked that he ended up knocking on in the first play-the-ball of the game.

A picture worth a thousand words

Daly Cherry-Evans enjoyed his milestone match with his family and friends, some flying in from interstate for the moment.
He celebrated with his three daughters on the field, two of whom were running the kicking tees for Manly, so they spend pleny of time with dad in the 58-30 win.
“It’s why you play the game,” he tells ABC Sport.
“This game is difficult physically and emotionally. When you’ve got the support like I’ve got, you’re really so sure on why you should keep going.”
He said something similar to Fox, which doesn’t seem to back up some of the talk around retirement that we heard coming into today’s game.
“It puts everything into perspective. People talk about me a fair bit, [but] this is what really matters, this is what keeps me going week to week.
“Whether people say I should stop or keep going, as long as you’re playing for the reasons like this there’s no reason to stop.”
