The attackers fled in the direction of Yuriria, a town 30 kilometers to the east of Las Jícamas. In March 2025, a CSRL training camp was located and raided by state authorities in Yuriria. The town has been the site of numerous high casualty attacks this year. Last month, a party hall was shot up, resulting in 6 deaths. Unconfirmed reports published by Infobae claim that CJNG vests were found at the scene.

Eight days prior, six vehicles were burned and left on a highway near Valle de Santiago. Authorities stated this narco blockade was not intended to impede the movement of authorities related to an operation, but was intended to cause panic among locals, reported Proceso.
