Australia beat England in the netball … could they do the same in the relays?

William Petric took Australia out to a solid lead, and Brendon Smith extended that lead to beyond four seconds at halfway.

Elijah Winnington did a 1:47.10 to extend the lead by another 1.3 seconds, before Edward Sommerville (1:46.16) brought it home.

The Australians touched the wall in 7:08.66, ahead of England in 7:18.13.

We can’t really gather much as the Aussies will swap out virtually the entire team for the final but on that swim, you’d have to say the Dolphins will be hot, hot favourites for gold.

Scotland are second fastest ahead of England in third.

That final will be the last event on tonight’s program, at 6:26am AEST.
