JINSA’s own letters urged Washington to arm and back Israeli action against Iran, then rallied retired officers behind the joint U.S.-Israeli war.

JINSA’s flagship program channels Israeli security briefings into public advocacy by retired American commanders.

JINSA says it flies recently retired officers to Israel to meet the prime minister, defense minister, IDF chief, and Mossad director. Its program page says participants afterward engage in policy initiatives that strengthen the U.S.-Israel security relationship.

In March 2025, JINSA issued a letter signed by 77 retired generals and admirals urging Washington to support Israeli military action against Iran.

“U.S. support for Israeli action to prevent a nuclear Iran should be a top priority.” — JINSA letter signed by 77 retired U.S. generals and admirals

The letter urged Washington to provide Israel “munitions, weapons systems, defenses, and support.”

After the Iran war began, JINSA published another letter signed by 75 retired officers endorsing joint U.S.-Israeli strikes. Its signers backed action to degrade and weaken Iran’s regime.

JINSA says its work shaped 2026 NDAA provisions, including House Section 219, which would designate a Pentagon executive agent to accelerate U.S.-Israel defense cooperation.

Responsible Statecraft calls the network part of the pro-Israel lobby. The primary record shows retired commanders traveling to Israel, signing JINSA letters urging U.S. support for Israeli military action, and JINSA claiming influence over defense legislation.
