Mark Levin read a Trump letter praising his stepson, David Milstein, days after a New York Times investigation said the Huckabee aide blocked embassy reporting sought by Congress on Americans killed in the West Bank.
President Trump praised David Milstein, a senior adviser to U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee, as reporting surfaced that Milstein allegedly blocked embassy material on the killings of Americans in the West Bank.
Mark Levin, Milstein’s stepfather, read what he said was a Trump letter at Milstein’s wedding in Israel. The letter thanked Milstein for his work advancing the U.S.-Israel relationship.
“David, thank you for your steadfast efforts to strengthen the enduring bond between the United States and Israel.” — President Trump, in a letter read by Mark Levin
A New York Times investigation, based on more than a dozen U.S. officials and dozens of State Department records, reported that Milstein suppressed or rewrote embassy reporting that could have placed Israel in an unfavorable light.
The investigation said Milstein blocked a detailed embassy report on Israeli investigations into the deaths of Americans in the West Bank after lawmakers demanded accountability. A March letter led by Sen. Chris Van Hollen and signed by 30 colleagues identified nine U.S. citizens killed there since January 2022 and demanded a U.S.-led investigation and case updates.
The reported embassy assessment found little progress in most of the Israeli investigations, with some cases closed and no one charged, according to coverage of the Times investigation. The report said Milstein instead sought a message saying Israel was handling the cases properly.
Huckabee called the allegations “farcical” and said he “categorically” rejected them. The State Department said its team remained focused on Trump’s America First agenda.
The Senate later voted 51-47 to block a measure that would have required the State Department to report on West Bank killings of U.S. citizens by Israeli settlers or security forces, Reuters reported.
