Alfredo Guzman Salazar, known as Alfredillo, has been linked to the world of organized crime in Mexico from an early age. At 37 years old, this son of Joaquín El Chapo Guzmán has led a life marked by excess and violence.
He is part of the criminal group known as Los Chapitos, made up of four of Joaquín Guzmán Loera’s sons.
Along with his brothers, they have constantly faced the fear of reprisals that could arise due to their father’s arrest, including the threat of being targeted by enemies from the criminal world.
Dámaso López Serrano, also known as Mini Lic, shared with MILENIO that Alfredo was a more reserved figure compared to his three brothers.
According to López Serrano, “Alfredo was younger and was more reserved, more shy, always following and respecting his brother.”
When one of his brothers, Ivan, became indirectly involved in drug trafficking, Guzman Loera provided them both with drugs, with Alfredo having already begun his career in organized crime before his brother. Lopez Serrano commented that El Chapo delivered “tons of marijuana” to them.
Simultaneously, Alfredo, with the collaboration of cartel employees and contacts, made use of the tunnels built by his father to transport drugs.
“He practically didn’t invest in anything and it was just about winning,” said Lopez Serrano,
“The violent” Guzman
Alfredo Guzmán Salazar is described as the most “violent” and “irrational” by Mini Lic. Despite having completed his education up to high school, his behavior becomes highly violent when he is under the influence of alcohol.
“When he is in his five senses he is normal violent, but when he is drunk he is violent on another level, he is like someone crazy that you can’t control.”
Alfredo seems to show no compassion even towards members of his own family. According to López Serrano, he always respected his brother Iván, but did not hesitate to take extreme measures in conflict situations.
López Serrano shared an incident in which Alfredo assaulted a cousin for suspecting that he was recording his brother Ovidio.
Alfredo’s violence manifested itself in unpredictable ways, as Lopez Serrano recounted in another episode in which he shot into the air after an argument.
“Once, he came yelling at my pilot, yelling at my musicians…there was a balcony from where you could see all of Culiacán and he went to put a glass and took the gun from the living room to shoot into the glass.
Despite his violent and erratic behavior, Alfredo takes his dog Blue, a mini Pomeranian that has become his constant companion, everywhere he goes.
Interestingly, the love and care he shows towards his pet contrasts drastically with his aggressive attitude towards others.
