Five abandoned bodies were found at the main access to the municipality of Loreto, Zacatecas, which led to the deployment of a strong security operation.
The five men were in a seated position, just below the letters “Welcome to Loreto”, which give access to this town that borders the state of Aguascalientes.
Motorists leaving the town were in charge of alerting the authorities through the 911 emergency telephone system.
Municipal police officers confirmed the multiple homicide and cordoned off the area. State police, the army and the National Guard also arrived at the scene and deployed a special patrol in search of the perpetrators, but so far there is no knowledge of the location or arrest of anyone related to the events.
For the moment the identity of the victims is unknown and it is only known that they appear to be of young age. The bodies show traces of torture and wounds caused by firearms.
The municipality of Loreto is in a constant fight to the death caused by the struggle between two criminal organizations with national presence, one based in Jalisco and the other in Sinaloa, who are fighting for control of the highways that connect Zacatecas with San Luis Potosí and Aguascalientes.
