Victim assistance protocols were immediately applied to the kidnapped persons.
The Special Projects Unit of the Prosecutor’s Office for Strategic Operations arrested Jesús Antonio M. M. M., 28, and Omar M. P., 23, in Ciudad Juárez.
The arrest was carried out for the crimes of Aggravated Kidnapping and against the Firearms and Explosives Law.
It was in flagrante delicto, in a home in the Pradera de los Oasis neighborhood, where nine people were rescued, whose identities are being withheld for their safety.
Two firearms were seized, a 9 mm caliber with a magazine and 12 rounds, as well as a .45 caliber handgun with a magazine and two rounds at the time of the arrest.
They also found two cell phones and a blue-green Ford Explorer, which were placed at the disposal of the authorities.
Nine people were rescued at the site, taken into custody and victim care protocols were immediately applied.
The detainees will be brought before a Control Judge in the next few hours, while investigations into these events continue.
In accordance with the laws and regulations in force, the detainees are presumed innocent until their responsibility is declared by means of a sentence issued by the judicial authority.
