Culiacán, Sin.- A series of clashes between armed groups broke out this Wednesday morning, September 11, in the center of the Quilá syndicate, in front of the Red Cross base in this community and in the communities located near the Culiacán-Mazatlán Maxipista highway, south of the municipality of Culiacán, where so far no injuries have been reported.
Several videos and photographs sent by users of the toll road and residents of the Quilá syndicate revealed the clashes that took place at around 6:50 a.m. this morning, where armed men can be seen aboard several armed pickup trucks and others on foot carrying assault rifles and firing at their targets.
At the moment all the businesses in the Quilá syndicate have lowered their curtains and those that had not yet opened decided not to do so due to the great problem of insecurity that is being experienced in most of the municipality of Culiacán, but which in the last three days has intensified in the center and south of the municipality.
Shootout in Quilá
Some trailer operators driving on the toll road recorded the moments when several units marked with numbers or letters and in which armed men were traveling, were driving south on the Maxipista, while other cargo vehicles were crossed on the road as a kind of shield to prevent rival groups from entering the area.
Also, marked trucks can be seen crossed on one of the lanes of the highway and neighbors of the communities of Jacola, La Laguna de Canachi and Estación Obispo have reported shootings in these communities, where no injuries have been reported.
