“Sol Prendido” for Borderland Beat

During a raid operation in the San José neighborhood, southeast of Barranquilla, the Metropolitan Police arrested Michellys Lorena Marino Restrepo, a woman accused of drug trafficking and romantically associated with Captain Leandro Aldemar Ureña Polo, commander in charge of the police station in Sabanalarga.

In the property searched, located in Portal de San José, a 38 caliber revolver and six cartridges were seized, as well as two packets of cocaine with an approximate weight of 2,247 grams, found in a Mazda 2 vehicle, license plate number KQM-102.

The detainee faces charges and felonies for manufacturing, trafficking and carrying firearms, as well as for trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.

The surprising revelation of Marino Restrepo’s relationship with Captain Ureña Polo, an active officer of the Atlántico Police Department, adds to the complexity of the case.

Although his direct participation in the crimes charged against his partner has not been indicated, his presence during the raid at the police station in Sabanalarga has raised questions.

The captured woman and the seized items, including the vehicle and three cell phones, were handed over to the 61st Sectional Prosecutor’s Office UMA of Barranquilla.
