At least nine are dead and two were injured during a bar massacre in the Manuel Ávila Camacho neighborhood.

At least 9 people (5 men and 4 women) were killed, and several more seriously injured in an armed attack on the Lexuz Bar, located on the Apaseo el Alto-Querétaro Pan-American highway in front of the Mary spa. The incident occurred minutes after 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
According to reports a convoy of at least 7 heavily armed men approached in two trucks and fired from outside of the bar. The hitmen then entered the bar, in the Manuel Ávila Camacho neighborhood, and opened fire over 100 times on the people who were inside. One elderly man was left dead outside of the bar, and others including the four women and a man lay dead inside the bar. At least two seriously injured women were taken to receive medical attention. Security elements from the three levels of government guarded the scene and others carried out patrols in search of those responsible.
Two men were found dead in a vehicle outside of the bar, while a separate car was covered in bullet holes.
A few meters from the door of the bar, on the side road, was a black car that had crashed into the wall of the road, as well as a white vehicle parked outside the bar that was peppered with gunshots. In the black car, the bodies of two more men were found. They were possibly passing through the area at the time of the attack and were killed by stray bullets, another version suggests that they had tried to escape but were hit by the attackers.

Inside Lexuz Bar

Lexuz Bar is a small men’s club featuring a stripper pole in the middle of the room that has often advertised this type of entertainment. Less frequently, advertisements for live music and sports games have been seen.  Based on the narco manta left on the floor near the bodies, Cartel Santa Rosa Lima targeted the strip club as it was under the control of rival CJNG figure “Zermeño.” The business page for the bar now lists it as Permanently Closed.
“This is going to happen to all the bunch of whores who are giving the blowjob here we are doing what you couldn’t do for so long, ‘Zermeño’, just like all the skinny bitches of the Jaliscas, get out of the molehill, sons of your fucking mother. Att. CSRL Shadow Task Force. Marro. MV.” reads the narco manta left near the bodies.
CJNG plaza boss Santiago Quiroz Zermeño, El Chago, whom the mantas are directed to, was arrested in April 2022 but may have been released.
In another manta, those responsible for these murders issued a threat to the businesses “of the crooked ‘Zermeño”, presumably involved with organized crime. “Zermeño”, the members of the CSRL refer to Santiago Quiroz Zermeño, El Chago, who is designated as the plaza boss in San Francisco del Rincón and was recaptured in April of this year. At some point, Zermeño left (or betrayed, depending on your source) the CSRL and joined up with the CJNG. He is believed to be working under CJNG Guanajuato leaders such as Ricardo Luis Ruiz Velazco, alias “El RR”, and Nabor Cárdenas, alias “El Navo”.

With this violent massacre, there are already more than 30 victims of attacks in bars in Guanajuato in the last three months due to disputes between the CJNG and the CSRL. In a similar incident, which occurred on October 15, CSRL shot dead a total of 12 people (6 men and 6 women) in the El Pantano bar, presumably while they were looking for three CJNG drug dealers.
