DW: EU leaders endorse Ukraine ammunition deal 

A meeting of European Union leaders in Brussels has been dominated by discussion of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. 

They endorsed a plan to send Kyiv a million rounds of artillery shells over the next 12 months. EU leaders meeting in Brussels on Thursday endorsed a deal to ramp up the supply of artillery shells to Ukraine as the country defends itself against Russia’s unprovoked invasion. 

“Taking into account the security and defense interests of all member states, the European Council welcomes the agreement … to deliver ground-to-ground and artillery ammunition to Ukraine and, if requested, missiles,” the meeting’s conclusions on Ukraine read. Read more ….
