Badiraguato, Sin.- The residents of the San José del Llano syndicate experienced two and a half hours of terror in the early hours of Wednesday, September 4, following a confrontation between armed groups in the central sector of the community, resulting in the death of two people and an abandoned pickup truck with bullet wounds.
Upon arriving at the place, the atmosphere was tense, the stores with their curtains closed, the gas station and the hotel deserted, while the doors of the homes remained closed and some residents were moving around on four-wheelers to carry out their daily activities, such as transporting cattle to the corrals.
As one moves along the main avenue that leads to the center of San José del Llano, a group of elements of the Mexican Army maintains a checkpoint at the height of the creek and in front of a gas station that has been out of service for several months, or even years, prohibiting the passage in vehicles and on foot to any person outside of any police corporation or the Sedena.
Further on, a yellow tape with the words “no trespassing crime scene” delimits the area where early Wednesday morning several armed men in various vehicles engaged in a gun battle for more than two and a half hours, using the trees and facades of houses to take cover from the hail of bullets.
“It all started at 1:30 a.m. or 2 a.m. and ended at 4:40 a.m., but name it, it was very ugly, the terror lasted for a while, we had to hide under the beds and behind the walls, but none of the ranchers were hurt,” said one of the residents who lives right in front of the site where the shooting took place.
At the site it was possible to confirm the presence of a lifeless body, which was covered with a blanket a few meters from the roof of the Cobaes de San José del Llano school, while between the school and the body was a white Toyota Tacoma abandoned with open doors and bullet impacts on the bodywork, tires and windows.

The body was covered with a sheet and was wearing black tactical boots. The rectangular-shaped explosive device that was thrown and did not explode was secured by Mexican Army explosives experts and was taken aboard an armored vehicle to the facilities of the Ninth Military Zone.
Hundreds of AK-47 and R15 long gun shells were found on the avenue and in alleys of the town, which were seized by the authorities. Unofficially, it was said that two other people lost their lives after these confrontations, but their bodies were abandoned in a community near the municipal capital of Badiraguato, so it is expected that in the next few hours the authorities will confirm or discard this version.
