A Hong Kong driver was arrested after an elderly woman was killed in a traffic accident in the New Territories on Sunday afternoon.

The 79-year-old woman was a passenger in a seven-seater vehicle that collided with a private Tesla car on Sam Mun Tsai Road in Tai Po. She was certified dead at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital in Tai Po at around 2.30pm.

The driver of the seven-seater was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death, while another passenger from the vehicle, an 81-year-old man, was sent to Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin.
