Hong Kong police hunt for trio over wounding of man at restaurant in central business district
Hong Kong police are hunting for three suspects over the wounding of a man at a restaurant in the city’s central business district on Monday afternoon, after the trio fled the scene in a car.
Officers arrived at the scene on Wellington Street in Central at around 4pm, after receiving a report that the victim was attacked at a premises there.
Sources familiar with the case said the victim was dining with his girlfriend before three men, aged 20 to 30, stormed into the restaurant and attacked the victim just before 4pm and then fled in a BMW car.

One insider said the victim was a businessman, adding there was currently no evidence to suggest he was indebted to any parties or involved in any recent quarrels.
“We cannot rule out the possibility of a dispute involving a love affair,” the source said.
The force said the victim, 50, had sustained wounds to his hands, left arm, right leg and back, but was conscious as he was taken to hospital.
The officers from the police’s Central district division are investigating the incident.
