Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) was in fine form during an appearance on Fox Business with Larry Kudlow.

He went off on the subject of the SAVE America Act and Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD), and said he was prepared to stay until they got it done. He said if he were in charge, he would have had it on for a reconciliation vote.

Kennedy said he didn’t know when they were going to be holding a vote, but that it needed to get done, he insisted.

“I am prepared to stay here as long as it takes. I’ve been to a squillion meetings to talk about this stuff that could’ve been an email! I’d rather have a back alley colonoscopy than go to another meeting! It’s time to vote!” he declared.

Now, that’s funny. But he’s also making the point that it needs to get done. Enough of this back and forth. No colonoscopy, no recess — just do it.

Kennedy also summed up the far left of the Democratic Party well, saying while what they were selling might go over in some blue areas, what they were trying to sell wasn’t going to fly in most of the country.

He said the strategy for dealing with them was very simple.

“Operation: Let Them Speak,” he explained, running through the list of things that some of the leftist Democrats have said at different points.

“These folks have contempt for America when they should have gratitude. They wanna open the prisons, open the border, defund the police, defund ICE, abolish Thanksgiving, a government-run economy. The American people aren’t gonna, not going to support that kind of nonsense.”
