Disqualifications galore

By Amanda Shalala

Are there usually so many disqualifications? I don’t remember there being nearly as many previous games. It is making these games harder to enjoy, being worried there’ll be a DSQ for no reason….

– Jess

It does feel like a lot doesn’t it Jess?

We’ve had Jaryd Clifford’s DQ in the men’s T13 5,000m yesterday, then Ahmed Kelly’s DQ and reinstatement (yay), and then Erik Horrie benefiting from the disqualification of Italian Giacomo Perini.

Here’s hoping we stay DQ free from here on in.

As expected, it’s TIGHT between the Steelers and Japan in their semifinal.

A reminder, this is a re-match of the Tokyo bronze medal match, and both teams came to Paris amongst the favourites for gold.

As usual, Ryley Batt and Chris Bond are the top scorers for the Aussies with five tries a piece.

Strong emoji game

By Amanda Shalala

Just for aesthetics purposes, when you have the medal summary in key events (which I love btw) can you put the colour medal corresponding with the medal they won ie 🥇🥈🥉 rather than the generic 🏅 Thanks x

– Bec

Good idea Bec, done!

The Steelers are about to take on Japan in their wheelchair rugby semi.

The Australians lost their opening match to defending champion Great Britain, before a stirring win over host nation France, and victory over Denmark.

Japan finished on top of its group, and defeated Australia in the bronze medal match in Tokyo 2020.

This should be an absolute cracker!

Boccia: Jamieson Leeson begins semifinal showdown

By Henry Hanson

Just noting the frequent updates on Dan Michel advancing through the Boccia finals – not a mention of Jamieson Leeson, who is also into Semi-Finals? Updates of both our brilliant Boccia Paralympians would be entirely appropriate, and appreciated.

– Amelia

Jamieson Leeson has just begun her first game of the day, a semifinal clash with Brazil’s Evani Calado. It remains locked at 0-0.

Jam is an absolute star and we’ll be sure to keep you all updated throughout the match.

Thanks for getting in touch, Amelia.
