Isaah Yeo’s NRL season appears in doubt after the Penrith co-captain suffered a suspected pectoral injury in a 28-12 loss to the Warriors that blows open the race for the minor premiership.

The talismanic lock and NSW captain pulled up sore after making a tackle and left the field during the final 10 minutes of the first half in Auckland.

If scans confirm a pectoral tear, Yeo could miss the remainder of the Panthers’ push for a fifth premiership in six seasons.

“It doesn’t look great,” Panthers coach Ivan Cleary said of Yeo’s injury.

“Obviously Yeoy’s a big loss and hard to replace, but that’s how it goes, if that’s the case, we’ll have to (replace him).”

The Bulldogs had a big chance to cause an upset tonight, leading 18-8 over the Roosters with 15 minutes to play.

But two quick tries, with the match-winner coming off a bomb that wasn’t contested, allowed the Roosters to snatch a two-point win.

The loss means the Bulldogs will finish this weekend outside the NRL top eight.

Bulldogs centre Matt Burton says there is a lot that his side can take from tonight, but they are disappointed to miss out on a big opportunity.

There was plenty of positives out of it. Just litt moments in big games cost you, and I think we missed a few tonight.

We fought hard; just little moments in the game cost us.

Roosters half Daly Cherry-Evans went equal with Cooper Cronk to be second on the all-time first-grade games list, playing his 372nd game tonight.

The Roosters had to fight to get the win over the Bulldogs, and often were their own worst enemy with errors.

But Cherry-Evans tells ABC Sport the Tricolours can be proud of how they overcame the self-inflicted adversity.

That was a close game. We made life realy hard for ourselves, and they’re a quality opposition. But we should be proud to get the job done.

We could have thrown the towel in, but a real show of resilience from the boys. 

Sydney Roosters winger Billy Smith scored two tries in the 20-18 win over the Canterbury Bulldogs.

It was not a pretty win for the Roosters, especially when you consider they scored 82 points last week.

Smith has spoken to ABC Sport, and says the team will be happy to win, despite not producing their best.

“We weren’t great, to be completely honest,” Smith says.

“Last year, we probably lose those games. Happy with the win.”

The Sydney Roosters have come from behind to defeat the Canterbury Bulldogs.

The Roosters held an 8-2 lead at half-time, but the Bulldogs scored three tries in 11 minutes to take an 18-8 lead with 25 minutes to play.

But two quick tries in the final 15 minutes for the Roosters earned them a hard-fought win.

The Bulldogs had the ball on their own 30-metre line.

A pass from Lachlan Galvin was dropped by Stephen Crichton, then picked up by Galvin in an offside position.

The Roosters have decided to kick for goal to try and extend their lead to four points.

From 32 metres out, just to the right of the posts, Sam Walker pulls the kick and misses.

It is an absolute disaster for the Bulldogs.

The Roosters have been threatening the Bulldogs’ goal-line for several minutes.

The Tricolours finally found a moment of class, with a shift to the left creating an overlap, and winger Billy Smith touches down in the corner.

In the first half, the Roosters threw a forward pass off a scrum, 10 metres from the Bulldogs’ goal-line.

IN the second half, centre Rob Toia drops the ball off the pass from the scrum, 10 metres from the Bulldogs’ goal-line.

A knock-on has been called.

Walker demands a challenge, believing the ball went backwards.

It’s close, but the Bunker has sided with the Roosters.

The Bulldogs have scored three tries in 11 minutes to completely change the complexion of this match.

The Roosters were running with the ball from near their own goal-line.

Roosters fullback Cody Ramsey dropped the ball, and the Bulldogs picked it up and threw the ball to right winger Jacob Kiraz.

Kiraz puts the foot down and wins the race to the corner for Canterbury’s third try.

The Bulldogs have burst into life.

Halfback Lachlan Galvin threw a dummy, then busted out of a tackle attempt from Rooster Reece Robson, and Galvin scores the try.

The Roosters are giving away the ball too easily, with a poor error on the halfway line giving the Bulldogs the chance to attack the goal-line.

Crichton kicks the goal. and in the blink of an eye, the Bulldogs have a six-point lead.

Outstanding dummy half work from Bulldogs hooker Bailey Hayward.

He scooted out of dummy half and ran through an enormous gap in the Roosters’ defence.

Roosters prop Lindsay Collins didn’t try to tackle. He must have either thought he was offside, or was called offside by the ref.

Hayward ran 50 metres, then passed to winger Jacob Kiraz who ran the final 25 metres to score under the posts.

Scores are level as Stephen Crichton converts.

It’s bad news for Sitili Tupouniua. He is out with a hamstring issue.

He missed the previous five matches for the Bulldogs with a hamstring injury.

The Roosters, holding an 8-2 lead, have the first use of the ball in the second half.
