Why do they keep the Sydney Test despite the weather? Because people actually turn up to watch it! The attendance numbers at the MCG and the Gabba were pretty disappointing. SCG you packs them in!

You are right, people do turn up for the Sydney Test.

In a ground that holds 48,000, there were 31,264 on day one and 27,663 yesterday for a two-day total of 58,927.

That’s 61 per cent full across the two days.

But I’d argue the crowds in Brisbane and Melbourne were not bad at all.

In Brisbane, the Gabba, which holds 36,000, had crowds of 29,306 and 18,206, a total of 47,512.

That is 66 per cent full across the two days – so a better crowd than Sydney.

The MCG? 64,876 on day one, 42,614 on day two, 34,318 on day three and 13,906. That’s a four-day total of 155,714.

Sure, that’s only 39 per cent capacity across four days, but it’s still over 155,000.
