Eighteen women are through to the women’s 200m semifinals after finishing in the top three of their heats.
That list includes fastest qualifier Gabby Thomas of the US, 100m gold medallist Julien Alfred from St Lucia, and British star Dina Asher-Smith.
Australian Torrie Lewis ends up the third-fastest non-automatic qualifier, but it matters little as the rest of the field, including fellow Aussie Mia Gross, is off to the repechage round.
The repechage races will be run on Monday at 8:50pm AEST.
