Daicos record watch
This match is petering out a little here as we tick into the final eight minutes of game time.
Nick Daicos is up to 37 dispsoals, six short of his career-high of 43.
Can he get there?
HT: Melbourne 9.4 (58) leads St Kilda 4.4 (28)
Those back-to-back Saints goals have certainly made things a little more interesting heading into the big break.
Jack Higgins and Alixander Tauru both kicked majors late after the Demons had controlled the entirety of the second quarter.
Tauru’s kick was meant with particularly enthusiasm. He was mobbed by team-mates as they celebrated the youngster’s first senior goal.
The bond-haired throwback was a live wire for the Saints, making some big contributions in defence but also at fault for Kade Chandler’s goal midway through that period.
After a red-hot first quarter, Bayley Fritsch was slightly more understated in the second – however, his three goals and seven marks make him the standout player of the half.
30 points the difference at half-time, and a mountain to climb for St Kilda.

Entusiastic stuff from Kozzy Pickett
He was certainly lucky not to be pinged here!

Faull hits back after Rioli’s unselfish play
Jonty Faull has his first goal of the afternoon, and it’s a really easy one from inside the square!
Maurice Rioli Jr took the mark inside 50 25m out from goal and then dishes off the handpass to the nearby Faull for the easy finish.
The Tigers’ fight has been really superb this afternoon. This is exactly what you want to see from a young team like theirs.

The Saints go back to back!
And it’s the youngster, Alixander Tauru!
He’s just been sent back on the field as a forward and he’s done brilliantly to take a mark and kicks a goal from straight in front.
His team-mates are clearly elated, mobbing the Nick Revolt lookalike and ruffling his blond hair.

Daicos all but certain for the three votes
Chris Nick Daicos today is Brownlow worthy
– Bailey
Highly doubt anyone tops Nick in the votes from this match!

Houston joins the Pies party
Dan Houston has the first goal of the final quarter after capitalising on a haphazard kick out of defensive 50 by the Tigers.
The Pies now lead by 41 points, and they’ll want to add to that in this final quarter for percentage purposes.

Slick Saints finally kick one
That’s better from St Kilda!
Quick, incisive stuff through the middle of the park sees the Saints string together their best string of handballs of the day.
The move ends with Jack Higgins taking a mark in the goal square and snapping St Kilda’s first goal of the quarter.

Petracca kicks one
It’s getting a little ugly out there as Christian Petracca boots a long one for the Demons.
We’ve seen some pretty dramatic turnarounds this weekend, but the Saints really needs to get a move on if they are to get back into this one.

Tauru cops a tough one
He’s been everywhere so far this quarter, and one of the St Kilda’s brightest sparks, but Alixzander Tauru has had a bit of a mare here.
The youngster does well to win a free just in front of his goal square, but the resulting kick is a disaster. He plays it straight to Kade Chandler, who sneaks in and boots his first of the afternoon.

The margin is out to 35.
3QT: Collingwood 12.10 (82) leads Richmond 7.5 (47)

Collingwood takes a 35-point lead into the final change after an excellent quarter, kicking 5.4 to Richmond’s 3.1.
The Tigers threw down the challenge to the Pies in the first half of the third term, but the Pies responded like a house on fire to take a comfortable lead.
The game isn’t still quite over, but it’s going to be an uphill task for the Tigers if they’re to get back into this one.
Nick Daicos has been at his brilliant best this afternoon. He’s up to 33 disposals and has four clearances and three goals. Daicos also has 12 score involvements and seven inside 50s.
Jacob Hopper continues to lead the way for Richmond with 26 disposals, while youngster Tyler Sonsie has also had a strong game, picking up 23 disposals of his own.
Collingwood leads the inside 50s 44-30 and the clearances 26-24.

Saints doing all they can to get a foothold
The Saints fans go up as Alixzander Tauru makes an inspirational smother in the Demons’ half.
It’s hardly free-flowing stuff from St Kilda in this second quarter, but they’re looking a whole more in engaged than they did in the first.

Hotton stems the tide with a brilliant finish
Oh this will excite the Tigers fans watching!
Taj Hotton with a lovely finish on the outside of the boot under heavy pressure to get Richmond a much-needed goal.
Good stoppage work from the Tigers inside their own attacking 50.

It’s raining goals at the MCG now for Collingwood
It’s another one for the Pies, this time it’s Jamie Elliott!
The Pies are absolutely hoovering up loose balls inside their forward 50 and making it pay on the scoreboard.
Elliott picks one up this time and snaps it through on the left boot for his first goal of the afternoon. Another excellent finish in heavy congestion.
Collingwood’s pressure rating in the last 10 minutes is at 237.

Melksham boots the first of the second quarter
It’s all a bit too easy out there for Melbourne.
The Saints are really struggling to keep up with the Dees in the centre of the park, and the ball travels easily through blue and red shirts towards the goal square.
Jake Melksham rises to take a strong mark straight in front and he kicks the first of the second quarter.

Schultz gets in on the act with a brilliant finish
The Pies have just turned up the intensity in the last five minutes they’ve kicked away.
Lachie Schultz scoops up a loose ball and snaps truly on the right boot to make the margin an even six goals.
Daicos with a ridiculous finish on the left boot
Oh my goodness, stop it Nicholas!
Daicos scoops up a loose ball and then on the left boot, tucked up on the boundary on the wrong side for a left-footed kick, he sails it through.
Have a look at these Daicos numbers. He’s up to 31 disposals and has three goals and also has 12 score involvements.
We still have almost seven minutes left in the third term.
Daicos’s career-high in disposals is 43, which he picked up last week, he’s well on track to beat that.

Hoskin-Elliott strikes to steady the Pies
It’s been a tense five minutes of footy, and Collingwood is the side who takes advantage on the scoreboard.
Will Hoskin-Elliott kicks truly from a set shot directly in front after the set-up from Nick Daicos.
The Tigers had plenty of opportunities but have lacked the class going forward.
