After January 6th, then-Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) hitched her political fortunes to opposing former President Donald Trump. Then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) saw that as an opportunity to give the Democrats and their coming J6 committee a facade of legitimacy. Pelosi wasn’t looking for a new friend; she wanted a useful stooge. Sure, Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) cried his way through the committee, and he made up the other part of the committee cabal, but Liz Cheney was the co-chair. She had had the gavel. She led the charge. Was it based on love of country? “Patriotism over party”? I submit that it is just the opposite: Out of hatred for one man — Donald Trump — Cheney has picked a party with a radical leftist, Vice President Kamala Harris, as its nominee and is actively campaigning for Harris because she hates that one man. Donald Trump.

I’ve seen this kind of irrational, visceral, unthinking hatred before. But not in politics. How often do we see a divorce end in raging acrimony? Too often, people divorce, and instead of splitting up with some dignity, one of the parties will turn to blind hatred. One friend divorced, and his wife was given everything she wanted. But she wasn’t satisfied with walking away — she did everything to undermine him. She hated him with such intensity that she did things that her “faith” told her was anathema. And, like Cheney, the divorce was her decision. Liz Cheney divorced from the conservative path, and instead of staying on the sidelines, she has embraced a politician who, four years ago, she would have found impossible to support.
RedState’s own Teri Christoph knew Cheney before hatred racked her soul. Teri recounts the following:
“Back in 2009 and 2010, Liz Cheney was an attendee and speaker at the annual conference for a conservative women’s organization I helped found. This was peak Tea Party, and Liz asked if she could come to the first one, then we invited her to the second one. She was clearly courting conservatives to springboard into something bigger. She hadn’t been elected to anything at that point and opportunistically used the grassroots movement to propel her into Congress. The Liz Cheney of today is nothing like the woman I met back then; she’s outed herself as a political parasite who will do or say anything to grab power and hold onto it. Not unlike Kamala Harris.”

When Cheney was dumped by voters, it was much like the “kids” in a marriage telling mom she was wrong. And Cheney didn’t take it well.
Her power has evaporated on the conservative side (lest we forget she was in a power position in the Republican Party). Cheney was high on her own fumes and also high on TDS. She was addicted to power and now is addicted to hatred for Trump. She switched to supporting Democrats as a quick fix to assuage her addictions.
Cheney’s hatred for Trump is deep. And it is clearly not “patriotism over party” – it is blind hatred for one man. Trump. Now Cheney is actively supporting Harris.
Some facts:
Kamala Harris is, by far, the most radical leftist to coup her way into a nomination. Before Biden augured in in July, Harris had a public approval rating about equal to cancer. She was, apparently, universally reviled in her own office. She never listened to advice. She was mean to staff and incompetent in presentation. She was and remains a liar. She has lied with alacrity about what she now supports. Everyone on both sides knows that she will impose her past positions on America if elected. For over four years, Harris has demonstrated that she is a fundamentally unserious person. She has repeated over and over again that she is a champion of equity over equality. The Helene devastation reminds us that Harris said in the past that aid for such disasters must be done with “equity” in mind. That is brain-numbing stupidity.

Harris has attacked the First Amendment and wants to suppress freedom of speech. She wants to suppress and restrict speech via control of the web and social media. She has been part of the worst illegal alien invasion in the history of America. She has opposed election integrity laws like mandatory voter ID.
She has loudly advocated for police defunding, and she helped bail out rioters. She said she was the last person in the room when 13 heroes died during the Afghanistan withdrawal disaster, and that makes her complicit in the debacle.
Harris wants to expand the Supreme Court and add Democrat states.
And Harris picked a man who appears to be even dumber and more incompetent and further left than her. Tim Walz would be one heart attack away from the presidency.
Harris is a socialist dressed in a Democrat pantsuit. She is a policy chameleon and easily the most radical leftist that Democrats have ever decided to support. The platform is radical. Harris is radical. And she is fundamentally unqualified for the job. If Cheney had a breath of integrity, she would tell us what policies Harris supports. But she can’t. She just supports TDS and now Harris.
My buddy Nick Arama wrote about the claim that Cheney has “courage”:
What courage? Liz Cheney hates former President Donald Trump, this serves her purpose of hurting him. She’s rejected by the Republicans, this gets her favor from the Democrats. So exactly what is courageous about this?

Liz Cheney isn’t picking America over party. She, in fact, is doing the opposite. She is supporting a radical leftist because she hates Trump. Nothing more. USA Today claims this:
“Rick Wilson, co-founder of the Lincoln Project, a group of moderate conservatives and former Republicans, said Cheney’s speech showed that “the courage of forming the Republican Party in 1854 as a remedy for a great injustice in this country still runs through Liz Cheney today.”
Gaslighting. There are no moderate Republicans in the Lincoln Project. None.
Cheney said as she campaigned with Harris:
“As we meet here today, our republic faces a threat unlike any we have faced before, a former president who attempted to stay in power by unraveling the foundations of our republic. We cannot turn away from this truth in this election, putting patriotism ahead of partisanship is not an aspiration. It is our duty.”
Cheney hasn’t just sided with a radical; she is Harris’ squire. If elected and Harris has a Democrat Congress, she and it will fundamentally change America for the worse. And it will be irreversible.
Cheney isn’t picking patriotism – she is doing just the opposite. She picked a Democrat out of blind, unadulterated hatred for one man.
