This morning, Martha Esther Rodríguez Cerna, the director of the Specialized Unit in Combating Kidnapping, of the State Attorney General’s Office of Colima, was killed by gunfire in Villa de Álvarez, Colima.
Heraldo de Mexico reported that a group of gunmen fired on her as she was getting out of an official vehicle. Paramedics tried to save her life, but she died after. According to one crime news twitter page, she died in a hospital.
Indira Vizcaíno, Colima’s governor announced Rodríguez Cerna’s death in a Twitter post.
