Rules for thee, as they say, but not for … Mamdani.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a deep red Communist, isn’t just weapons-grade incompetent. It turns out he’s also a raging hypocrite.

While lecturing struggling New Yorkers yesterday to crank their thermostats up to a toasty 78 degrees during a scorching heat wave, risking heat stroke for the greater good, his own City Hall reportedly turned into a walk-in freezer.
Nothing says ‘man of the people’ quite like demanding everyone else suffer in the heat while your government offices stay ice-cold and comfortable. What an absolute rube.
New York Post reporters, armed with a device known as a thermometer (say it slowly, because that word is about three syllables longer than the grinning buffoon is used to), conducted a little investigation and found that temperatures inside City Hall and other municipal buildings were significantly chillier than 78.
How chilly? An area near the first-floor mayor’s press office hit 62 degrees. Inside the press radio room, it was even more of a stunner, hitting 54 degrees.
So Mamdani, City Hall’s thermostat is set below 78 degrees. How do you expect New Yorkers to set their thermostats at 78 degrees when your own people don’t obey your rules?! pic.twitter.com/bRd3gogCQ8

Socialism in America: Not New, but This Time, Worse
54 degrees. Come on, man. One reporter said they saw a penguin walking through the room, eating a Klondike Bar.
Okay, I made that part up. But still — 54 degrees!
You know where else it was 54 degrees yesterday besides parts of City Hall? Xining, China — apparently a favorite vacation spot for comrades who enjoy that authentic collectivist chill.
After testing 20 spots, Post reporters found that all but five were below 78 degrees.
Making this story even better is the fact that Mamdani could have just issued his decree and left it at that. Instead, he insisted that government buildings in the Big Apple would lead by example.
“Set your AC to 78 degrees, turn off lights/electronics you’re not using, and unplug what you can,” he demanded on X. “Our City is doing its part too: maintaining the 78 degrees rule in our buildings, dimming/turning off our lights during peak electricity demand, asking private partners to do the same, and powering down non-essential equipment.”

Narrator: It turns out the city was NOT, in fact, doing its part, too.
New York: it’s hot out there, and the power grid is working overtime to keep us cool.

Apparently, the “warmth of collectivism” became the frigid reality of elitism.
Mamdani is back on X today, warning that the heat wave in New York City will be even more oppressive today.
“Today is the peak of the heat wave, and our city may feel as hot as 115 degrees. Stay cool, stay vigilant, and check in on your neighbors,” he wrote.
Unfortunately, it won’t be the peak of Mamdani’s hypocrisy or general incompetence. There’s plenty more where that came from.
