With long weapons, vests, tactical equipment and their faces covered, this was how the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) cell that a week ago unleashed a chase and shootout in which three municipal police officers and another from Mexico City were killed, posed.

In one of the photos obtained by Mexico City authorities, you can see the seven detained individuals who were holding four people hostage in Toluca; they are dressed in black, some are hooded and carrying high caliber weapons.

In this image, in possession of EL UNIVERSAL, the criminals are identified by their nicknames, “Ántrax”, “JR”, “Chino”, “Alan”, “Cuervo” and “Moreno”.

“El Lagarto”, leader of the group and originally from Jalisco, was one of those individuals who took a long gun and shot at the police while they were being chased as they entered the Álvaro Obregón neighborhood.

The authorities indicate that all of these subjects participated in the events of March 17, and that they were part of a CJNG cell. The crimes they are charged with are intentional homicide and carrying firearms for the exclusive use of the Army.

The initial hearing is expected to continue on March 24 to determine whether the individuals will be charged.
