Michoacán has maintained a downward trend in terms of homicide, said the Secretary of Government, Elías Ibarra Torres.

According to a press release, this is in accordance with the most recent figures from the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), which places the state in sixth place among the states in terms of the number of victims.

From 2,762 victims registered in 2021, 1,724 were registered in the year that just ended, that is, 1,38 cases less, which represents a decrease of 62.4 percent of this crime.

“This decrease in the number of homicides is directly related to the inter-institutional coordination between the state government and the federal and municipal authorities in matters of public security and justice,” he said.
