On May 30, once again, residents of the municipality of Teocaltiche lived moments of terror for approximately one hour, due to a gunfight between members of two criminal groups, which resulted in the death of a person who was not involved in the incident as a result of the crossfire.

On June 19, a man was killed in a confrontation between criminal groups in the municipality of Teocaltiche. The deceased was a member of one of the criminal cells involved in the shootout. At the scene, authorities recovered a black Ford Lobo pickup truck with handmade armor that had multiple bullet wounds, as well as 30 bullet casings for assault rifles and an explosive device.

On September 2, Teocaltiche police officers were shot at while on patrol. Two police officers were killed in the attack.
