President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) gave his morning conference on Monday, November 13 from Ciudad Obregón, Sonora. While the governor of the state, Alfonso Durazo Montaño was speaking about the birthday of the national leader on social networks, the discovery of banners with the name of Rafael Caro Quintero was reported.
First reports indicate that the material was found in Hermosillo and the names of several people who are allegedly responsible for the violence in Sonora appear on the banners.

Sajid Emilio Quintero Navidad, alias El Cadete, who turned himself into the American government and who everyone speculates is the one who turned in his uncle Rafael Caro Quintero, today free for having cooperated, but continues his criminal career as he is behind the wave of violence in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora (sic),” reads the banner addressed to AMLO.

On at least three bridges the messages were placed with the name of Roy Antonio, a man who had already been mentioned in other banners placed in October of last year. When Roy Antonio was mentioned in another banner, it could be read that he was related to the La Plaza Cartel, the latter identified as the armed wing of the Caborca Cartel.

Meanwhile, in the recently found material, the aliases of El Nando Arenas, El Tío Bengel and El Pulpo appear. For his part, in January 2018 Sajid Emilio Quintero pleaded guilty to US authorities to conspiracy to distribute drugs in the United States and laundering monetary instruments.

According to the banner, El Cadete would be the one who “delivered” Rafael Caro Quintero, the latter is being held in the Altiplano prison in the State of Mexico, while U.S. authorities expect that he could be extradited next year.

Similar messages in Sonora

It should be noted that the messages found in October last year had a similar structure to those found recently, since they are a white tarpaulin with a red box denouncing violence and addressing the authorities.

On that occasion the message had photographs and was addressed to Governor Alfonso Durazo and federal authorities.

“Alfonso Durazo Montaño and federal authorities, in our Port of Guaymas and Empalme there have been many raids in which most of them rescue people who are kidnapped, all these events are carried out by the Cartel of La Plaza,” it could be read on that occasion.
