Sharks thrash Cowboys in Townsville
Cronulla-Sutherland secured a dominant 40-12 victory over the Cowboys in Townsville to open Saturday’s NRLW fixtures.
Tries to Ellie Johnston, Emma Tonegato, Georgia Ravics and Brooke Anderson helped establish a dominant 24-0 lead before half time, with Jasmine Peters’s 27th minute score the only interruption to the Sharks’ one-way traffic.
Jada Taylor got the Sharks back on track after the break, but North Queensland hit back through Emma Manzelmann to give the Cowboys and their home supporters hope.
However, further tries to Quincy Dodd and Sereana Naitokatoka completed the scoring in the second half as the Sharks ran in seven tries to two.
