
“Sol Prendido” for Borderland Beat
Six people were arrested on Thursday in the town of Pinos; authorities link them to the disappearance of several policemen. Armed civilians and police clashed in the southeastern part of the state, up to the border with Jalisco.
In security operations, 11 long firearms, six ballistic vests, three magazines, nine vehicles and four motorcycles were seized; in addition, three camps used by criminal groups were located and dismantled.
Last Wednesday night, after an armed aggression against elements of the Security Forces in the municipality of Pinos, Zacatecas, six people were arrested (four men and two women) who could be related to the kidnapping of five police officers in the municipality of Villa Hidalgo.
In coordinated actions, members of the Immediate Reaction Force of the State Preventive Police, Mexican Army and National Guard were patrolling in the communities of Nigromante, El Obraje and El Sitio, when they were attacked by armed civilians, an action they had to repel, initiating a confrontation and chase.
The pursuit extended to the borders with the state of Jalisco, for which reason the immediate support of other security corporations was requested; authorities from that state, as well as from San Luis Potosí and Aguascalientes, also deployed in the area, responded to the call.
As a result of the exchange of bullets, two of the assailants were injured and died on the scene. Six people were arrested, two women and four men, four of them from Jalisco and two from Zacatecas; no security personnel were reported injured.

According to the analysis and intelligence work and derived from the various evidence secured, it is considered that these detainees could be related to acts of violence registered in the municipality of Villa Hidalgo.
Confirmation has been made that the bodies correspond to the five policemen abducted last Sunday from the police headquarters of Villa Hidalgo, Zacatecas.
The macabre finding occurred this Saturday morning in the town of Pinos between the villages Nigromante and Jiltomate.
