Doha, Qatar: The College of Pharmacy at Qatar University (QU) yesterday announced the highly anticipated 10th Scientific Conference for Pharmacy Students in the Middle East (EMPS) will take place from July 6-17. The conference will be held under the distinguished sponsorship of Dr. Asma Al Thani, Vice President of Health and Medical Sciences at QU.

Dr. Feras Alali, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at QU, attended the event to announce the conference.

The conference will gather pharmacy students from across the Middle East to foster knowledge exchange, promote interdisciplinary education, and showcase the leadership skills of QU’s pharmacy students.

Dr. Alali stated, “On behalf of the College of Pharmacy, I am honoured to announce that the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF) has selected the Qatar Pharmacy Student Association to host the 10th Scientific Conference for Pharmacy Students in the Middle East (EMPS), which will be held in July at Qatar University’s new Student Activity Center under the theme ‘Healthcare System through the Pharmacy Eyes.’

He added, “The conference is an annual gathering of pharmacy students and graduates from countries across the Middle East. It was first held in Amman, Jordan, in 2010, and Qatar hosted the second edition in 2011, receiving high praise for its warm reception and organisation.

“We are very proud of the urban, cultural, and educational development in Qatar, and this is the message of the Amir H H Shiekh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for Qatar Vision 2030.”

The 10th EMPS Scientific Conference will explore the pivotal role of pharmacy in shaping and improving healthcare systems. The conference also aims to achieve excellence in education, research, and public service. It fosters collaboration among students worldwide, enhancing their knowledge, skills, and experiences in pharmacy.

It will feature a comprehensive programme comprising specialised lectures delivered by industry experts, engaging workshops, panel discussions, and interactive sessions. Attendees can expand their knowledge, engage in thought-provoking conversations, and develop meaningful connections with professionals and peers.

The conference is expected to attract diverse participants, including pharmacy students, faculty members, researchers, industry professionals, and healthcare experts.
