The dismembered bodies of six men were found in the bed of an abandoned truck in the town of Teticic in the Montaña region of Guerrero, early Thursday morning. The corpses appear to be those of several townspeople kidnapped by armed men who entered the community on Wednesday, May 20, according to police reports.
Following the reports, elements of the Mexican Army, National Guard, and state forces searched the area during the night, however, they were unable to locate the victims or the armed men. The following morning, residents reported finding an abandoned Nissan truck at the entrance to the community, where six dismembered bodies were found inside black bags.
Over the last several weeks, this region has been marred by disappearances, killings, and body dumps. Local paper Interaccion Noticias reported that at least 19 bodies have been left in this region over the last two months.
On March 30, on the road from Olinalá to Cualac, the police found seven bodies contained in black boxes and aluminum pots, as reported by Borderland Beat. Two weeks later, on
May 11th, six more bodies were found abandoned on the Olinalá-Temalacatzingo highway.
