I’ve taken to calling what’s happening in the Democrat Party as the rise of unapologetic socialism, because, as we all know, there have always been elements of socialism in the party’s platform. It’s just gotten noticeably more extreme over the years, instead of purposely being swept under the rug.

Where ten years ago they would have accused Republicans of “scare tactics,” these days the label is proudly embraced in some party circles, something we’ve recently seen play out in states like New York and Colorado.
Openly socialist candidates for public office are not only receiving high-profile endorsements from card-carrying Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) party members like NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), but they are also winning their primary races, in some cases against seasoned incumbents, further emphasizing the point that an aggressive DSA takeover is underway.

But while some on the left are expressing excitement about the direction the party is taking, others are running from it, like the group of 10 or so “moderate” House members who have signed a pledge where they actually declare things like “We are capitalist, not socialist” and “We are proud, not ashamed of America.”
Still, there are others who either appear to be in denial or who want to pretend like it’s no big deal because, hey, they are the “big tent” party, right?

Well, not really. But that’s what these people want voters to believe:
Rep. Robert Garcia welcomes Melat Kiros — the Democrat Socialist who said 9/11 was America’s fault — to Congress:

Democrat Rep. Vincente Gonzalez welcomes the socialist takeover of the Democrat party:

As the above post indicated, apparently it’s now openly acceptable to welcome into the fold candidates who have, among other things, blamed America for 9/11 and Israel for the 10/7 Hamas terrorist attacks. And candidates who, as in the case of NY-13 nominee Darializa Avila Chevalier, have racist viewpoints about white people, similar to what we’ve often seen in the past from other racist Democrats like longtime Rep. Maxine Waters (CA-43). I guess that’s nothing to be ashamed about in the Democrat Party anymore, either.

There is also this: Democratic Socialists of America party officials are so sure of themselves now amid their Democrat party takeover that they are admitting on camera for the world to see that their eventual goal is communism here in America:
Democratic Socialists of America Co-Chair Ashik Siddique admits they support communism.
CAIN: “He says ‘our goal is communism’.”

So the question that needs to be asked of every single Democrat House member going forward is this: Are you okay with that “big tent” including people who openly support communism, and who are on record as not only hating their country, blaming it for terrorist attacks against it, but also embracing antisemitism and anti-white racism?
The other question that needs to be asked is: Where has socialism ever worked? As RedState reported, it’s a question Sen. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE) simply couldn’t answer in a recent interview:
Democrat Sen. Lisa Blunt Rochester dodges when asked when socialism has ever worked.
ROCHESTER: Is that another question or is that for the next interview?
CNBC: I just want to know one place…
ROCHESTER: When you have me come back on we can talk about all the races… pic.twitter.com/vEwq0ObxBi

We know the answers to those questions, and deep down, Democrats know the answers to those questions, too. But headed into the 2026 midterms, voters in America need to see how Democrats respond to such questions by twisting themselves into pretzels in trying to defend the indefensible.
The Democrats’ biggest enemy isn’t President Trump. It’s themselves and their growing shameful, anti-American coalition of racists, antisemites, and communists. And perhaps more than anything else we’ve come from them in the Trump era, the socialist takeover proves that beyond a shadow of doubt.
