“Sol Prendido” for Borderland Beat


The mutilated body of a man was found on Saturday morning, March 11, in the vicinity of the Lázaro Cárdenas segunda mesa neighborhood in Tijuana.
According to information obtained by ZETA, the macabre discovery was documented at 9:25 a.m. on 5 de Mayo Street, when agents discovered two black plastic bags containing two legs, two arms, a dismembered head, and a male torso.
Sources from the prosecutor’s office indicated that next to the human parts were found a blanket and a white sheet with words written in red ink that read: 
“Kevin Hernández keep running your mouth and involving yourself in these affairs, and you’ll be next. 
Yours truly, the man with the 5th letter.”
In other violent acts, it was reported that in a vacant lot located on Río Balsas street, in the Camino Verde neighborhood, the body of a man between 45 and 50 years old was found, with traces of violence from a firearm projectile.
Witnesses reported that around one o’clock in the morning, they heard gunshots, in which one person had been wounded.
Also in the area of the hill, near Tarahumara street in the Anexa Buena Vista neighborhood, the body of a young man between 20 and 25 years old was found, with multiple wounds, apparently caused by a sharp object.
Later, in front of a house located at the intersection of José Vasconcelos and Andrés Quintana Roo streets, Reforma neighborhood, an individual named Juan Carlos, 43 years old, was murdered. The deceased had two gunshot wounds to the chest and collarbone.
Lastly, 48 year-old Jorge Pulido, who was admitted to the hospital after being shot at in the Sanchez Taboada neighborhood, died at the Tijuana General Hospital.
No arrests have been reported in any of the cases.
