LIV and the PGA Tour shocked the sports world on Tuesday when they announced a merger. LIV and the PGA had been involved in a nasty competition for the right to be the premier golf tour. No one besides Donald Trump believed that a merger would be possible. Trump has hosted LIV golf events at his clubs, most recently at his Washington National Golf Club right outside of D.C.
Trump was mocked when he wrote on TruthSocial on July 18th, 2022,” All of those golfers that remain ‘loyal’ to the very disloyal PGA, in all of its different forms, will pay a big price when the inevitable MERGER with LIV comes, and you get nothing but a big ‘thank you’ from PGA officials who are making Millions of Dollars a year, If you don’t take the money now, you will get nothing after the merger takes place and only say how smart the original signees were. Good luck to all, and congratulations to really talented Cam Smith on his incredible WIN!”

In 2022 CNN had NBC Sports anchor Bob Costas on to trash Trump and the LIV Golf league. Costas basically called the league a joke compared to the PGA Tour. This will be quite awkward for Costas and CNN as NBC Sports and CNN’s parent company Warner Bros will likely be carrying future LIV-PGA events.
Last year CNN brought on Trump hater Bob Costas to feign outrage over LIV Golf playing a tournament on Trump’s course.

LIV Golf Nation, a fan account run by fans of LIV Golf, had awesome tweets about today’s merger. One tweet read, “Watching the Golf Channel right now is like watching CNN on election night after Trump beat Hillary.”

Trump commented on today’s merger by writing on TruthSocial, “GREAT NEWS FROM LIV GOLF. A BIG, BEAUTIFUL, AND GLAMOROUS DEAL FOR THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF GOLF. CONGRATS TO ALL!!!”
Many hope today’s merger means Major Golf Championships like the U.S. Open and PGA Championship will make their returns to Trump-owned golf courses in the near future.
