Democrats did a disgraceful thing on Thursday, violating the rules of the Senate to block Republicans from speaking on nominees and ramming through subpoenas for conservative private citizens Harlan Crow and Leonard Leo. The Democrats are trying to go after those two on a fishing expedition to attack and undermine the conservative wing of the Court.

It was a shameful move, and the Republicans ripped them to shreds over it and walked out of the vote to deny them a quorum. The Democrats passed it anyway.
But there was another thing that the Democrats did on Thursday that has a lot of people talking. They denied the request that Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) made for subpoenas for records related to Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s book deal (in which she allegedly detailed staff to help promote the book) as well as Jeffrey Epstein’s flight logs.
Blackburn explains what Durbin did amidst all the furor on Thursday.
Senate Judiciary Democrats don’t want to approve my subpoenas for Justice Sotomayor’s staff or Jeffrey Epstein’s flight logs.

The Democrats were willing to violate the rules and throw all the standards under the bus to get the other subpoenas, but they showed it really wasn’t about ethics when they blocked a look into the ethical question related to Sotomayor. That exposed their base partisan purpose.
Then, too, why are they blocking a subpoena for the Epstein flight logs?
Fox’s Jesse Watters went there, demanding to know why the Democrats were blocking it. The pedophile is dead, he said, so why are you blocking the request to find out who the associates of the pedophile were?

“Why is Sen. Dick Durbin covering up for Jeffrey Epstein?” Watters asked. Why can’t we see who flew on his jet and who went to his island? We all know Clinton was on the plane more than two dozen times, so who is being protected here? Watters asked.
Durbin seems intent on imploding the committee, and people are going to find it out eventually, so who is Durbin protecting? The excuse Durbin’s office gave was that they didn’t have time to schedule a vote on the subpoena, according to Watters. “They’ll have time tomorrow,” Watters added, somewhat facetiously. They also had time to push through subpoenas for a fishing expedition to undermine the SCOTUS and get in a battle with their colleagues over that. So that excuse about not having enough time doesn’t wash.
“They got a subpoena to go through Melania’s underwear draw, so they should be able to subpoena the Epstein flight logs,” Watters said. “And Epstein had surveillance videos. And hard drives seized by the FBI in Palm Beach, in Mexico, Manhattan, and in the Caribbean. It’s almost like the government has no interest in tackling international sex trafficking.” Or at least not when it comes to Epstein and powerful people.

Watters then took a leap, “This means Epstein was intel and Durbin is covering up for the entire op. What a bunch of animals. And how dare they pretend to care about women and kids.”
Now, that’s speculation. But it’s long since time that the lists be released. When Durbin and the Democrats block the information, it’s going to spark all kinds of speculation. Durbin needs to answer as to what’s going on here and why it looks like he’s trying to protect people connected to Epstein.
