CNN really does take the cake for what it tries to sell people.
As we previously reported, CNN said they weren’t going to be airing President Donald Trump’s prime-time election security speech, although it would be normal for the media to do so. As CNN’s Brian Stelter claimed, “executives” made the decision it could be “dangerous” if they aired it live, so they were only going to tell us about it through their spin filter. It’s a complete abdication of what is supposed to be the job of journalism – reporting the facts – and allowing us to judge what those facts mean. You have to think they really don’t want you to see what Trump was saying.

If that wasn’t bad enough, here’s what they were trying to sell people about their failure to cover it live. CNN’s Kaitlan Collins claimed that there hadn’t been any complaints from the White House about their decision not to cover it live.
Kaitlan Collins says usually they hear complaints from The White House when CNN doesn’t carry President Trump’s remarks…. And they didn’t hear any complaints today.
Collins: Normally, if there’s a moment where we don’t take the president’s comments in full, we hear about it… pic.twitter.com/bbHJuZMgZ9

Collins asserted, “Normally, if there’s a moment where we don’t take the president’s comments in full, we hear about it from the White House; they complain about it. We didn’t hear any complaints really today. I didn’t.”
Check the admission, as she talks about “normally” when they “don’t take” Trump’s “comments in full.” She’s acknowledging that they normally filter out what he says. So this bad action is not just a one-time thing.

Then they’re trying to justify their own actions by saying there were no complaints. Does anyone think that’s even credible?
That’s straight-up fantasy. Trump himself complained about the media blackout in the speech itself, as we reported. That’s not a “complaint” to her? What she said is misleading, to what’s left of CNN’s audience and anyone who might hear what she has to say.
However, Collins wasn’t even telling the truth when it came to further White House response to CNN’s action, according to Steven Cheung, White House Director of Communications.
Warning for graphic language:
Oh, we definitely put them on blast. We even spoke with their executives to tell them it was bullshit they didn’t take the speech. CNN is the enemy of the people. https://t.co/DTMtxZP6Dm pic.twitter.com/GjH9shHY4y

“Oh, we definitely put them on blast,” Cheung said, pointing to one of the tweets their Rapid Response account posted. He also explained, “We even spoke with their executives to tell them it was bullsh**t they didn’t take the speech. CNN is the enemy of the people.”

So even that claim is not true. CNN needs to stop digging the hole at this point – it’s making us look at the issue even more.
