Michigan Democrat Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed hit the Sunday talk shows, including Meet the Press (MTP), to promote his campaign.
He’s facing difficulties because of his far-left positions and his associations with extremists like Twitch streamer Hasan Piker. He’s having difficulties with Democrats who supported Rep. Haley Stevens (MI-11) as well as the working class.

MTP anchor Kristen Welker asked him about his closeness to the socialists and how he differed, for example. This was not a great response.
NBC: “You have said you’re not a Democratic socialist…you’ve even attended events hosted by the Democratic Socialists of America, where do you differ from Senator Sanders?”
EL-SAYED: “I understand right now, though, that we don’t live under capitalism…” pic.twitter.com/o4iFiIo3aK

I think he thinks he said he was defending capitalism, but it came out like he was attacking corporations anyway. What a jumble. Sure, he was just hanging with the socialists for sport, not because he really believed what they said. That’s why they’re supporting him now. Come on, man, he’s trying to sell us the Brooklyn Bridge.
However, his answers on taxes and healthcare were even worse.
El-Sayed said he wanted billionaires to pay more – the stock far-left slogan.
But Welker pressed a bit on that, asking what about the people who made under a million dollars, would they have to pay more? And it sure sounds like he said yes. Check out this full-on gobbledygook.
Abdul El-Sayed admits Americans will pay more in taxes for his socialist government-run healthcare.
NBC: “Americans worry you can only make Medicare free and universal if you increase taxes…would you need to increase taxes?”
EL-SAYED: “You paid a little bit more in taxes…” pic.twitter.com/BTRG5wY5PA

So for the average person, when you look at your W2, if you’re an employee who gets paid every two weeks or four weeks, after you pay your taxes, the next biggest check that comes off the top of your pay stub is to your health insurance company.
So imagine instead of paying that to your health insurance company, whose CEO makes $20 million a year, instead you paid a little bit more in taxes for health care that you wouldn’t lose if you lost your job or turned 26 or got married or got divorced.

He continued:
I think all of us would be a lot more interested in that kind of a system if we knew that our health care would be free at the point of care and would be free without having to worry about losing it, in general. So there’s an opportunity here, I think, to trade what we give to a big corporation, who gets to decide who we get to see and who we don’t, for a little bit more paid into FICA.
And I think that’s a trade that’s worth making. I think the broader public understands that that’s a trade worth making, considering how many people are holding medical debt. A third of all Michigan households right now.
Welker tried to confirm, “You are effectively acknowledging that people making less than a million dollars could see their taxes go up. I just want to be very clear. Is that a yes?”

EL-SAYED: “We’d be paying for healthcare in a different way…” pic.twitter.com/vSdUoF7631

El-Sayed said this:
I’m saying that we’d be paying for health care in a different way. Instead of paying a health insurance company, whose CEO makes $20 million, I would much rather pay for durable health care into a government, which, of course, we all know provides health care for seniors who need health care the most. So if I’m trading paying a CEO to make more money or paying a government to guarantee me health care, I’m picking the latter every time.

Translation? Yes, absolutely, they’re going to tax the regular folks too.

Bet the farm on your taxes going up if you vote this guy in and anyone else who goes along with this nonsense. He’s really telling us to trust giving the government more money – because you know they’ve been so good at this in the past, right?
By the way, how’s Obamacare – that thing that was supposed to solve all the healthcare problems – doing? Now this is the excuse to grab even more money from the over-taxed people.
If they think that’s a winning message, they’re delusional.
